Unlike , which sets the exact date of its annual event Nio Day at the end of the year, Xpeng Motors holds its annual Tech Day on October 24.

On October 12, as the event date is less than two weeks away, the company started to warm up for it.

"Moving forward in discovery, does imagination have boundaries? 1024 is coming," reads the text of a poster released by Xpeng.

The poster features depictions of city skyscrapers, a flying car and Xpeng superchargers lining the road, possibly suggesting that Xpeng will announce more developments related to its assisted driving, flying car technology and replenishment facilities at that time.

Similar to how 1111 is considered Singles' Day in China, 1024 is considered Programmer's Day because it is the 10th power of 2, Xpeng has chosen this day of the year as a day to share its technological achievements.

On October 24 last year, Xpeng's Tech Day was held at the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, where the company unveiled its technologies including NGP highway navigation assisted driving and parking lot memory parking.

The full name of NGP is Navigation Guided Pilot, which is one of the features of XPILOT 3.0 and above system.

It enables automatic navigation-assisted driving from point A to point B based on a user-set navigation route, and has previously allowed Xpeng's flagship sedan, the P7, to do so on the highway. With the official launch of the LiDAR-equipped P5 model in September, the company is extending this capability even further to regular city roads.

Late last month, Xpeng tested the capabilities of its City NGP beta version on the P5 sedan in downtown Guangzhou, where it is headquartered.

Perhaps we'll see new developments on City NGP at the upcoming Xpeng Tech Day event.
