The Airtrek, the first electric vehicle GAC Mitsubishi will launch in China, was believed to be based on the GAC Aion V, and now its registration at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proves it.

The Airtrek is an electric 5-seat SUV that will go on sale within the year and will only be sold in Asia, according to 58che.com.

Unlike the Aion V, the Airtrek adopts Mitsubishi's design language Dynamic Shield, which is evident in its grille, headlights and taillights.

The Airtrek has a length, width and height of 4,630/1,920/1,728 mm respectively, a wheelbase of 2830 mm and is equipped with hidden door handles.

The interior of the Airtrek is essentially the same as the Aion V, featuring a floating screen, a full LCD instrument cluster and a knobbed gearshift. The electric engine allows for a large amount of legroom in the rear.

Like the Aion V, the Airtrek has a maximum power of 135 kW and a peak torque of 350 N⋅m, and offers two range options of 500 km and 600 km.
