In July, China's power battery installation volume was 11.3 GWh, up 125.0 percent year-over-year and 1.7 percent from June, according to data released Wednesday by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance.

Among them, ternary lithium batteries were installed in 5.5 GWh, up 67.5 percent year-over-year and down 8.2 percent from June. Lithium iron phosphate batteries installed 5.8 GWh, up 235.5 percent year-over-year and 13.4 percent from June.

From January to July, China's power battery installation volume was 63.8 GWh, up 183.5 percent year-over-year.

Among them, a total of 35.6 GWh of ternary lithium batteries were installed, accounting for 55.8 percent of the total installed capacity, up 124.3 percent year-over-year. Lithium iron phosphate battery installed volume was 28.0 GWh, accounting for 43.9 percent of the total installed volume, up 333.0 percent year-over-year.

In July, had the highest installed base of 5.66 GWh, with a market share of 50.1 percent.

's battery installation volume was 1.90 GWh, with a market share of 16.8 percent, ranking second.

From January to July, CATL's installed base was 31.42 GWh, with a market share of 49.3 percent. BYD's battery installation volume was 9.55 GWh, accounting for 15.0 percent of the total installation volume, ranking second.

In July 2021, China's power battery production totaled 17.4 GWh, up 185.3 percent year-over-year and up 14.2 percent from June.

Among them, the output of ternary lithium batteries was 8.0 GWh, accounting for 46.0 percent of the total output, up 144.0 percent year-over-year and up 8.6 percent from June. Lithium iron phosphate production was 9.3 GWh, accounting for 53.8 percent of total output, up 236.2 percent year-over-year and up 20.0 percent from June.

In January-July, China's power battery production was 92.1 GWh, up 210.9 percent year-over-year.

Among them, the output of ternary lithium batteries was 44.8 GWh, accounting for 48.7 percent of the total output, up 148.2 percent year-over-year. The output of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 47.0 GWh, accounting for 51.1 percent of the total output, an increase of 310.6 percent year-over-year.
