Jianghuai Automobile Group Co (JAC), 's auto manufacturing partner, sold 12,007 electric vehicles in July, up 189 percent from a year earlier and up 3 percent from June, according to data released Friday by the company.

JAC sold a total of 67,618 electric vehicles from January to July, an increase of 218.08 percent from the same period last year.

The company sold 39,000 vehicles in July, up 6.57 percent from a year earlier, and sold a total of 324,000 vehicles from January to July, up 31.7 percent from a year earlier.

It produced 10,999 electric vehicles in July and 67,114 vehicles in total from January to July.

JAC did not specify, but in line with industry practices, its EV sales figures should include Nio vehicles.

For reference, Haima Motor, the OEM for Motors' G3 model, said Friday that its reported car sales included the G3.

Nio delivered 7,931 vehicles in July, up 124 percent from a year earlier and down about 2 percent from June.

The deliveries consisted of 1,702 ES8s, 3,669 ES6s, and 2,560 EC6s. Nio has completed the delivery of 49,887 units in 2021, exceeding last year's full-year delivery.

JAC signed a five-year contract with Nio in 2016. On March 27 of this year, the two companies signed a contract to establish Jianglai Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Anhui) Co.

Nio and JAC will deepen their manufacturing partnership to optimize operating costs and improve operational efficiency and management capabilities, said Shen Feng, executive vice president of Nio, in March.
