had long held the No. 1 position in the delivery volume of China's new car makers, but in July this crown was taken away. Many people feel sorry for it, but the company doesn't seem to care.

Data released in the past two days showed that delivered 8,589 vehicles in July, making it the top new carmaker in terms of deliveries for the month.

was next, with 8,040 units delivered.

Nio dropped to third place at 7,931 units, down about 2 percent from June.

"The floods in Germany this year affected the supply of air suspension shock absorbers, thus affecting Nio's production capacity this month," an unnamed Nio insider was quoted by local media cls.cn as saying on Monday.

Nio doesn't care about losing the No. 1 position in deliveries among the new car makers in July, the report said.

"We have just that much capacity, and it's normal to deliver a little more or a little less," the source said.

As the capacity for the 100-kWh battery pack is released, the average selling price of Nio models may soon surpass that of a German luxury brand.

The source did not specify which German luxury brand this is, but according to previous data from China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), the average selling price of Nio in May was RMB 432,900 (US$66,600), higher than BMW's 391,000 and Audi's 322,000, but lower than Mercedes-Benz's 435,600 yuan.

This means that the German luxury brand the person was referring to would be Mercedes-Benz.

A statement sent to CnEVPost by Nio on Monday also proved that the capacity of the 100-kWh battery pack is being released.

"Nio 100kWh battery pack is deploying to every Nio Power Swap Station. The delivery of the 100kWh battery pack will significantly ramp up in the coming months," the statement read.
