Appliance maker Skyworth unveils new model, priced from $23,500-CnEVPost

Chinese appliance giant Skyworth has launched its new mid-size all-electric SUV EV6, which includes four specifications and is priced at RMB 152,800 ($23,500)-249,800.

Skyworth previously named the model ET5, but changed its name to EV6 at launch, without providing a reason.

The EV6 has a length, width, and height of 4,698/1,908/1,696 mm and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. The vehicle is similar in appearance to its previous model, the ET5, but with an upgraded interior and specifications.

The car is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD dashboard, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, and features Swaiot Smart Home, SkyLink smart network system and L2.5 self-driving capability.

The EV6 is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 150 kW and peak torque of 320 N⋅m, offering a choice of 410 km and 520 km of range.

The EV6 will also include an electric model with a range of more than 600 km, available in the first quarter of 2022; its hybrid version will be available in the second quarter of 2022.

Skyworth reiterated its goal of reaching 250,000 units in annual sales by 2025 and 500,000 units by 2030.

On April 27, Skyworth founder Huang Hongsheng announced the renaming of Skywell Auto to Skyworth Auto and the release of the Skyworth ET5 model from the previously available Skywell ET5.

Skyworth was established in June 2000 with a registered capital of HK$1.83 billion, and its business scope includes investment consulting for industrial projects, economic information consulting, import and export of goods and technologies, and technical consulting for household electrical products.
