has started pushing a new OTA update in China that will lower the minimum speed requirement at which automatic emergency braking (AEB) can be activated, according to a message posted by the company on Weibo on Monday.

The update changes the minimum speed to trigger the AEB feature from 8km/h to 5km/h.

In addition, after the update, vehicles will send alerts if the charging port is not successfully connected when the user is charging with AC power.

Tesla said that software updates are pushed in waves, and there may be several days' variation in the updates received by different vehicles. The company recommends that users keep their vehicles online and that software update preferences be set to Advanced.

Tesla said the features available in the latest software may vary depending on the model.
