Voyah, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand of legacy carmaker Dongfeng Motor, unveiled its first model, the mid-size SUV Voyah FREE, on Dec. 19 last year, and now it is on sale.

Voyah said Saturday that the Voyah FREE goes on sale today. The model is available in a version with the same extended-range technology as 's Li ONE and in an all-electric version, priced at RMB 313,600 ($49,000) and $333,600, respectively.

With a length, width, and height of 4905/1950/1690 mm and a wheelbase of 2955 mm, the Voyah FREE is slightly smaller than the Li ONE and the ES8.

The car is equipped with 3 millimeter-wave radars and 9 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, and the active night vision system can identify pedestrians and animals within 150 meters in front of it. It comes standard with an L2+ Advanced Intelligent Driving Assistance System.

Both models of the Voyah FREE have dual motors with a maximum power of 500 kW and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm.

It has an NEDC range of 860 km for the extended-range version, 505 km for the all-electric model, and 475 km for the 4WD version.

Its 0-100km/h acceleration time is 4.6 seconds for the extended-range version and 4.8 seconds for the all-electric 4WD version.

Notably, unlike the Li ONE's 1.2T three-cylinder engine, the Voyah FREE is powered by a 1.5T four-cylinder engine from Dongfeng Motor.

The company said the Voyah FREE uses an engine that delivers a quiet, smooth experience, which is what makes the new extended-range technology, perhaps alluding to its superior technology to the Li ONE.
