Geely's new energy vehicle sales in May totaled 6,284 units, up 3 percent year-on-year, according to figures released by the Chinese automotive giant on June 7.

In the new energy vehicle segment, Geely's product pipeline includes Geometry A, Geometry C, Emgrand EV, and Emgrand GSe.

Geely sold 96,167 units of all vehicles in May. Its total January-May sales of 530,074 units were up about 26 percent from the previous year.

Geely sold 36,639 sedans and 57,961 SUVs in May.

The company exported 10,384 units in May, up about 235 percent year-over-year. Geely continues to expand overseas, with COOLRAY already available in Nigeria, Paraguay and Angola, the company said.

Sales of Lynk & Co, the company's premium brand, rose 39 percent to 18,059 units in May, with cumulative sales of 520,744 units across the Lynk & Co model line.

The Lynk & Co 05 PHEV Halo, a plug-in hybrid version of Lynk & Co's extremely capable sports SUV, has been launched with an official guide price of RMB 227,700 ($35,640).

In 2020, the Lynk & Co "Europe Plan" was implemented, and several batches of the new Lynk & Co 01 PHEV have been exported to Europe since 2021.

Geely launched the new "G Family" brand on June 6 at the Geely China Design Center in Shanghai. This is the first time that Geely's China Design Center has been opened to the public.

The car company said on Weibo that "G Family" is a spiritual home for Geely users and a club for sharing creativity.

The brand will be user-led, user-run and user consensus will define the brand culture, and even the brand name "G Family" comes from the contributions of users, according to Geely.
