Chinese power and energy company Gotion Hi-tech has entered into a partnership with electric vehicle brand Leapmotor to supply the latter with electric cells, the Securities Times reported on Monday.

Gotion has partnered with a number of automotive brands, including Skon-RCEV, Great Wall Motor, Changan, Im Motors, Holland EBUSCO, and India TATA.

Leapmotor delivered 2,770 units in April, up 866 percent year-on-year and 278 percent from March.

Leapmotor unveiled the 2021 Leap T03 all-electric vehicle on April 8. The car went on sale at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 19 at a subsidized price of RMB59,800 ($9,288) - RMB75,800.

The car is equipped with LEAP PILOT 2.0 intelligent driving system with 15 sensors and OTA upgrade support.

The car is a single-motor design with 55kW of power and a range of 403 km.

Leapmotor also unveiled the C11 Performance Edition at Auto Shanghai 2021. This car has an upgraded powertrain with two Leap-developed "Pangu" motors.

It has a 2930mm wheelbase, an NEDC range of 550km, and an acceleration time of 4.8 seconds from 0-100km.
