Chinese electric vehicle company delivered 5,539 units of the Li ONE, its only model, in April, up 13 percent from March and 111.3 percent from the same month last year.

The company saw its 50,000th delivery of the Li ONE in April, bringing the model's cumulative new vehicle deliveries to 51,715 by the end of April, 17 months after it began deliveries in December 2019.

Li Auto previously reported financial results showing that it generated RMB 4.06 billion in vehicle sales in the fourth quarter of 2020, up 64.6% from RMB 2.46 billion in the third quarter of 2020.

Li Auto reported a net profit of RMB 107.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2020, compared with a loss of RMB 106.9 million in the third quarter, marking the company's first quarterly profit.

Li Auto went public on NASDAQ at the end of July last year, becoming the second Chinese electric vehicle company to go public in the US after .

In its prospectus filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Li Auto said it plans to launch a large SUV in 2022 and continue to use extended-range technology.

In its third-quarter earnings call, Li Auto founder and CEO Li Xiang said the company plans to launch a new vehicle each year after 2022, including a full-size SUV with extended-range technology.

Previous media reports suggest that Li Auto will likely announce the new vehicle by the end of the year and begin deliveries in the second half of 2022.

At the end of April, Li Auto's 2,000-person Shanghai R&D headquarters building was completed, and preparations are almost complete to start welcoming employees in.

Earlier today, Motors released figures showing it delivered 5,147 vehicles in April, up 0.88 percent from March's 5,102 units. Compared to the same period last year, Xpeng's deliveries were up 285 percent, marking the 10th consecutive month of year-over-year growth of more than 100 percent.

In April, 2,995 units of Xpeng P7 were delivered and 2,152 units of Xpeng G3 were delivered.

By the end of April 2021, Xpeng's cumulative deliveries this year had reached 18,487 units, five times the number of units delivered in the same period last year.

Nio released data Saturday showing it delivered 7,102 vehicles in April, down 2 percent from March, as a chip shortage put constraints on its capacity. But the figure was up 125.1 percent from a year earlier.

Nio delivered 1,523 ES8s, 3,163 ES6s, and 2,416 EC6s in April.

As of April 30, Nio's cumulative deliveries of ES8, ES6 and EC6 reached 102,803 units, the company said.
