released the much-anticipated driving data yesterday in an attempt to end a dispute with a car owner, but the move was challenged by the latter's family.

In the afternoon of April 22, Tesla released to the media the driving data of the car one minute before the accident and made a text explanation.

In the evening, Mr. Li, the husband of the woman who stood on the roof of a Tesla during the Shanghai auto show in protest, told Daxiang News in Henan Province that Tesla's move violated the owner's personal privacy and consumer rights, and that he would immediately file a complaint with Zhengzhou's market supervision department.

On April 19, at the Tesla booth at the Shanghai auto show, the female owner wearing a T-shirt with the words translated as "Brake Failure" stood on top of the car in protest, causing widespread concern. She was then forcibly carried out by staff and detained for five days for disturbing public order.

Tesla's person in charge of the accident said it had sent the data to the customer by email, and since the customer's phone had not been answered, Tesla sent it to the email address the customer filled in when she bought the car.

"My wife is still in custody and her phone is in the hands of the police, so how can she get the call?" Li said, adding that they were never contacted before Tesla made the data public.

Li said he spoke with Zhengzhou's market regulators on the phone on the afternoon of April 22 and was told that Tesla had been asked to provide the data to the owner and there was no mention of releasing the trip data through the media.

Tesla released the driving data without any communication with the owner, much to Li's surprise after seeing the news, the report said.

"This has violated our personal privacy and consumer rights," Li said.

Li expressed his disapproval of the driving data presented by Tesla. He also believes that the driving data is personal property and personal privacy, and that it is unacceptable for Tesla to release it to the media and the public without the owner's permission.

Li said that he will complain to the Zhengzhou market regulator and demand Tesla to publicly apologize and withdraw the driving data.
