Ora, Great Wall Motor's EV brand, unveiled the Lightning Cat, priced under RMB 200,000 ($30,783), on April 19.

The Ora Lightning Cat features frameless doors, hidden door handles, an auto-lifting rear wing, and a sport-oriented calibration based on the GWM L.E.M.O.N. Platform.

The company's new models, including the Lightning Cat, will be equipped with a cobalt-free jelly battery using a laminated process with an energy density of 265Wh and more than 3,000 recharge cycles.

The car will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 4 seconds. Under 4C fast charging, it takes only 9 minutes to charge from 20%-80%, the company said.

In addition, the Ora AI-Feed self-driving system with Qualcomm chips has 700T of computing power and is loaded with 39 self-driving components.

Great Wall Motor said the model will cost less than RMB 200,000, but no specific price has been announced. It is safe to speculate that the price of the model is around RMB 200,000.

The Ora Lightning Cat will be available for pre-order by the end of 2021, with production deliveries in the second quarter of 2022.

Previously, car companies, including , introduced the so-called "queen's seat" to cater to females. However, these means are only to incorporate design elements into the car, but Ora should be the first to position itself as a "feminine" brand in terms of the overall strategy.

This strategic positioning means that Ora has already made a trade-off, and brand director Yu Fei once said, "Can male drivers buy Ora? Yes, but sorry, our focus is probably not on you."

Ora sold more than 54,000 units in 2020, ranking fifth in sales of new energy brands in China. The Ora Black Cat was the fourth best-selling electric car in the world in February, with 4,100 units sold.
