Chinese ride-sharing platform Didi Chuxing's new generation L4-class automated driving vehicle, a collaboration result between Didi and BAIC, was unveiled for the first time at the World Smart Connected Vehicle Conference on 11 November 2020 and offered for test rides.

It is an L4-class self-driving vehicle based on the BEIJING-EU7 modification, developed by BAIC Group in collaboration with Didi Autopilot.

In the future, BAIC and Didi Autopilot will also explore the possibility of a wider landing and operation of this L4 automated driving vehicle, the companies said.

In June 2020, Didi Autopilot and BAIC signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to deepen cooperation in the field of automated driving, explore front-loading mass production and commercial operation models, and accelerate the realization of L4-level automated driving on the ground.

Since Didi invested in the research and development of automated driving in 2016, it has cooperated with a number of car companies to launch a variety of automated driving vehicles.

On June 27, 2020, Didi Autopilot will be open to the public in Shanghai to book test rides. Offering connected test rides at the World Smart Connected Car Conference, this is the first public appearance of Didi Autopilot's partnership with BAIC.
