will use NVIDIA Orin chips in its full-size extended-range smart SUV to be launched in 2022, and is expected to be the first new energy vehicle company in China to develop a fully independent Level 4 self-driving system.

Li Auto today signed a strategic partnership agreement with NVIDIA and NVIDIA's China partner Huizhou Desay SV Auto in Beijing.

The NVIDIA Orin system-on-chip was released in 2019 and is scheduled to go into production in 2022.

Using a 7nm manufacturing process, Orin delivers 200TOPS of computing performance per second, a seven-fold increase in performance over the previous generation of Xavier SoCs.

Li Auto will offer customers the option to upgrade to a single-chip Orin with 200TOPS of computing power as standard, providing Level 2+ advanced driving assistance.

Users who choose to upgrade to a dual-chip Orin will be able to reach 400 TOPS of computing power, providing a Level 4 level of autopilot solution.

The Desay SV will provide an automated domain controller for Li Auto based on Orin's system-on-chip computing power.

Based on this, Li Auto will complete all programming and algorithm logic independently, and is expected to be the first new energy vehicle company in China to develop a complete Level 4 automated driving system.

Thanks to the computing power and scalability of the NVIDIA Orin system-on-chip and Desay SV's Autopilot domain controller system, Li Auto will enable full assisted driving to autopilot coverage in the next generation of vehicles.
