Chinese EV maker delivered 3,965 vehicles in August, up 104.1 percent year-on-year and setting a new record high.

The deliveries consisted of 2,840 ES6s, its 5-seater electric SUV, and 1,125 ES8s, the 6-seater and 7-seater electric SUV.

As of August 31, 2020, cumulative deliveries of the ES8 and the ES6 reached 53,580 vehicles, of which 21,667 were delivered in 2020.

"In August, we achieved our best-ever monthly performance on both deliveries and order growth," said William Bin Li, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Nio.

"As we continue to improve the production capacity for all Nio products, our monthly capacity will reach 5,000 units in September to support our future deliveries," Li said.

With the closing of our recently announced ADS offering, Nio has further enhanced our balance sheet and optimized our capital structure to be better prepared for the acceleration of our core technology development, autonomous driving in particular, and the global market expansion in the future, Li said.

In July, Nio delivered 3,533 cars, up by 322.1% year-over-year. The deliveries consisted of 2,610 ES6s and 923 ES8s.

On July 24, 2020, Nio announced the pre-subsidy price of the EC6, starting from RMB 368,000, and began taking production orders for the 5-seater premium smart electric coupe SUV.

Its NEDC range of up to 615 kilometers with the 100 kWh battery pack, excellent driving experience, sporty and stylish design present a highly competitive model for a younger and broader user base. The EC6 deliveries will commence in September 2020.
